Here are a few tips on how to be a responsible visitor…
Support local businesses – Supporting local pubs, shopping at independent stores, and exploring nearby attractions all help strengthen Northumberland’s economy and preserve its unique charm. Visit our Explore Northumberland page to learn more, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates and inspiration.
Car free days – Why not leave the car behind and explore the area on foot, by bike, or using public transport? You'll not only reduce your carbon footprint but also experience the stunning landscapes, charming villages, and local wildlife in a more meaningful way.
Refill your bottles – Our tap water is free, so bring bottles to refill. Visit www.refill.org.uk to find places where you can top up your water bottle for free while out and about.
Leave unwanted toiletries - If you have any toiletries you don’t need, consider leaving them behind for other guests who may have forgotten something. It’s a simple way to reduce waste and help out fellow visitors.
Be energy-wise during your stay – Please switch off lights and lower the heating instead of opening windows to cool down your accommodation. Remember to turn off appliances and lights when heading out for the day. While electricity is included in your stay, using less energy helps reduce our environmental impact and supports efforts to protect the planet.
Take shorter showers – It might seem like a small change, but cutting just a few minutes off your shower time can significantly reduce water and energy usage.
Respect Nature
Help us to look after the landscape and wildlife by not littering and using footpaths.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Significant efforts are underway across the site to reduce waste, promote reuse, and maximise recycling.
